Refund Policy

Effective October 15, 2026

Lawyers in Florida must charge reasonable fees and return funds that haven't been earned. This policy summarizes how we apply those principles. Your written engagement agreement contains the specific terms for your matter.

Consultation fees

Retainers and advance deposits

Advance fees and cost deposits are held in our trust account and applied only as fees are earned and costs are incurred. When a matter ends — for any reason — any unearned balance remaining in trust is refunded promptly, together with a final statement.

Flat-fee matters

If a flat-fee engagement ends before the work is complete, we will refund any portion of the fee that has not been earned, based on the work performed, as required by the rules regulating The Florida Bar. We'll explain how we calculated the refund in writing.

Contingency-fee matters

In contingency matters, no attorney's fee is owed unless there is a recovery, as described in your agreement. Your agreement also explains how case costs are handled, including whether you may be responsible for costs regardless of outcome.

Billing errors

If you believe a statement contains an error, tell us within 60 days of the statement date. We'll review it and correct any error, refunding or crediting overcharges within 10 business days of confirming the mistake.

How to request a refund or raise a fee concern

Email support@patricklawgroup.us or call (813) 229-4785 with your name, matter, and the reason for your request. We acknowledge within 1 business day and respond in writing within 10 business days. Approved refunds are issued by check or to the original payment method within 10 business days.

If we disagree

Fee disputes that can't be resolved directly may be submitted to mediation or to The Florida Bar's fee arbitration program where both parties agree. See our Terms of Service.
